A sale price is not what you keep. Commission takes a percentage of the card, a transaction fee takes a percentage of everything including postage, and a fixed per-order amount takes the same few cents whether the card sold for two dollars or two hundred.

What the calculator does
Commission applies to the card price, capped at $75 per product on TCGplayer. The transaction fee applies to the order total — card plus shipping — and the fixed fee applies once per order. Postage and packaging are your costs, not the marketplace's, so they come off the result rather than the fee line.
One thing the calculator deliberately does not model: TCGplayer's item-based Direct fees, which charge half the value of a card under $2.49 and a flat amount above it. Cards in that band are not worth listing individually at all, so a calculator that priced them precisely would be answering the wrong question.

Frequently asked questions
How much are seller fees on card marketplaces?
On TCGplayer a standard Level 1–4 seller pays 10.75% commission on the subtotal, capped at $75 per product, plus a transaction fee of 2.5% and $0.30 on the order total including shipping and tax. Rates read from TCGplayer on 21 August 2026.
Why is my effective fee percentage higher than the commission?
Because two other charges ride along: a percentage transaction fee applied to shipping and tax as well as the card, and a fixed per-order amount that does not shrink with the sale. On a five-dollar card those two can exceed the commission itself.
Can I use this for eBay or another marketplace?
Yes. Switch the preset to "custom rates" and enter the commission percentage and per-order fee your marketplace charges you. This site does not publish eBay percentages because its fee table sits behind bot protection we do not bypass.
Should shipping be charged to the buyer or included?
Either way, the fee is calculated on the total the buyer pays, so moving money between item price and postage changes almost nothing. What does change your result is the postage you actually pay, which is why it is a separate field here.
